Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
Genesis 1:2 “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was
upon the face of the deep.”

[ed: The Massorah text itself reads “(to become) without form” .
The Massoretic text for these words, “without form” is “tohu-va-bohu”,
Strong’s H1961 – “Hayah” – ” to become, or come to pass “.

Genesis [1:1] is the very beginning of creation without any time element attached to it.

Genesis [1:2] is the result after some time in the 1st Earth age when satan began and continued his rebellion against God and all that is Godly. Some of Father’s children stood with him then and some of these same people will also be doing that once the anti-Christ begins his fake role as the Messiah on the Lord’s mountain of Jerusalem.

Genesis [1:3] (below) is the first verse of the newly created 2nd Earth age that we live in now.

How many Earth ages have been declared by God? There are 3 in total.
The 1st Earth age was closed away, we are in the 2nd Earth age, while the 3rd Earth age is yet to arrive until after the Millennium years.

You can find a study devoted to the subject of the 3 Earth ages here at this link: http://www.ourgoodshepherd.org/3-earth-ages/ ]

II Peter [3:8] “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day
is the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”

[ed: As you can read above, a day with the Lord is like a 1000 years on earth. Remember that when reading the following creation narrative of the first 6 days of this 2nd Earth age.]

Day 1:
Genesis [1:3] “And God said, “let there be light:” and there was light.”

Genesis [1:4] “And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided
the light from the darkness.”

Genesis [1:5] “And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called
Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.”

[ed: So the end of the first “day” occurred with the darkness as the beginning of the “day”, while the light was the end of the same “day”.
This is not referring to the “light” being the sun, moon or stars, for they will be created in the 4th “day”. There was at the beginning of this age, only darkness, yet God’s spirit of light came to the world and by that spirit, we begin to establish a renewed earth. ]

Day 2:
Genesis [1:6] “And God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the
waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.”

Genesis [1:7] “And God made the firmament, and divided the waters
which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the
firmament: and it was so.”

Genesis [1:8] “And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening
and the morning were the second day.”

[ed: At this time, there were waters up into the upper levels of the Earth’s sky, while other bodies of water were under the Earth’s sky and these are the oceans. The firmament is an open expanse or space between the 2 waters.]

Day 3:
Genesis [1:9] “And God said, “Let the waters under the heaven be
gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear:” and it
was so.”

Genesis [1:10] “And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering
together of the waters called He Seas: and God saw that it was good.”

[ed: Just the waters “under” the “heaven” were gathered and there was the appearance of dry land now.]

Genesis [1:11] “And God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb
yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed
is in itself, upon the earth:” and it was so.”

Genesis [1:12] “And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed
after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after
his kind: and God saw that it was good.”

Genesis [1:13] “And the evening and the morning were the third day.”

Day 4:
Genesis [1:14] “And God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the
heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and
for seasons, and for days, and years:” and it was so.”

Genesis [1:15] “And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven
to give light upon the earth:” and it was so.”

Genesis [1:17] “And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give
light upon the earth,”

Genesis [1:16] “And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule
the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: He made the stars also.”

[ed: Now the sun, moon, and the great host of stars are there. These can be used for understanding the seasons, the count of days, and years.]

Genesis [1:18] “And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.”

Genesis [1:19] “And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.”

Day 5:
Genesis [1:20] “And God said, “Let the waters bring forth abundantly the
moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in
the open firmament of heaven.”

Genesis [1:21] “And God created great whales, and every living creature
that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their
kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was
good.”

Genesis [1:22] “And God blessed them saying, “Be fruitful, and multiply,
and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.”

Genesis [1:23] “And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.”

[ed: God has first created living water based creatures, then flying birds, then other sea creatures, but land creatures would occur in the 6th “day”.]

Day 6:
Genesis [1:24] And God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature
after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his
kind:” and it was so.”

Genesis [1:25] “And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and
cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after
his kind: and God saw that it was good.”

Genesis [1:26] “And God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our
likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over
the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over
every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”

Genesis [1:27] “So God created man in His own image, in the image of God
created He him; male and female created He them.”

Genesis [1:28] “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, “Be
fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have
dominion over the fish of the sea, ad over the fowl of the air, and over
every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”

Genesis [1:29] “And God said, “Behold, I have given you every herb
bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in
the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.”

Genesis [1:30] “And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the
air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is
life, I have given every green herb for meat:” and it was so.”

Genesis [1:31] “And God saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it
was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.”

Genesis 2:1 “Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the
host of them.”

[ed: Here in the sixth day, the land creatures will now be created, then there are men and women created as well. Notice that the women are not crated from the man’s “rib” or DNA. In verse #28 it states that God wants the Earth to be “replenished”, and this shows that the Earth is being repopulated once again for life to begin and increase in its strength, Replenishment is needed since the 1st Earth age resulted in a complete utter destroyed Earth due to satan’s attempted overthow.]

Revelation [12:3] “And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and
behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven
crowns upon his heads.”

Revelation 12:4 “And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven,
and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman
which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was
born.”

[ed: Satan’s 1st Earth age governance had 7 domains and 10 ruling powers that ruled over these domains. Satan led 1/3 of the people to accept his authority and to accept him as their new god. This conflict angered and hurt God greatly, but he has a plan for another Earth age that will allow for repentance and to realize what God is truly about, a soul can be saved away from entering into the final death of that soul after the Great judgement day at the end of the Millennium years.]

Day 7:
Genesis [2:2] “And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had
made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had
made.”

Genesis [2:3] “And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because
that in it He had rested from all His work which God created and made.”

Genesis [2:5] “And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and
every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it
to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.”

[ed: So here it says that there was no man to cultivate or to otherwise care for the land. Men and women were created in the 6th “day” but they were not to farm per se, but to live from the Earth’s wilderness and wild animals. These people were hunters, fishers, and gatherers.
The Bible is quite clear that men and women were created in the 6th “day”, before the 7th “day” of the Earth’s rejuvenation.
So we need to understand who this other man for the “till” is. For he can be called as the 8th “day” man, aside from the 6th “day” man.]

Day 8:
Genesis [2:7] “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground,
and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living
soul.”

[ed: This word “man” in the above verse is found in the Hebrew scripture as “eth-ha-adham”, and this man will become the first Patriarch of the natural heritage eventually leading to the birth of Jesus Christ. This lineage is documented in Matthew [1:1], and Luke [3:23].

These lists can also be found in the Companion Bible appendix #99
( https://levendwater.org/companion/append99.html ) for reference as well. For Adam was formed by God, and Christ was also formed by God, though he was born through his mother Mary just like all of us.]

Genesis [2:8] “And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and
there He put the man whom He had formed.”

[ed: God has now created a garden. The Hebrew word for “garden” means it is an enclosed area.]

Genesis [2:9] “And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every
tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also
in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.”

[ed: This documents that both Christ and Satan are in the Garden. Adam is not yet in the Garden.
Christ is the Tree of Life.
Ezekiel [31] documents that the tree of knowledge of good and evil is satan.]

Genesis [2:10] “And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and
from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.”

Genesis [2:11] “The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth
the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;”

Genesis [2:13] “And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it
that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.”

Genesis [2:14] “And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it
which goes toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is
Euphrates.”

[ed: There was a river from Eden that flowed from a source, and that river went Eastward toward and through the garden, it then left the garden and Eden, and separated into 4 named rivers. Each river has a name not created by men. Rivers flow downhill, so safe to assume the source in Eden as well as the Garden was uphill to some extent, so that the water would proceed along.]

Genesis [2:15] “And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the
garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.)”

Genesis [2:16] “And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “of every
tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:”

Genesis [2:17] “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou
shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt
surely die.”

[ed: Adam is staying in the Eden garden area, and Adam is told directly by God to not eat of that tree of the knowledge of good and evil.” His mate (Eve) is not yet formed.]

Genesis [2:18] “And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should
be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.”

[ed: A wife mate for Adam will be made, but not yet.]

Genesis [2:19] “And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of
the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto adam to see
what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living
creature, that was the name thereof.”

[ed: Note that the birds are particular “fowl” not just any or all birds. Also note that the animals are of the “field”, not for the Earth’s wildernesses. No fish are brought about either for they are not for the farming purpose.]

Genesis [2:21] “And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam,
and he slept: and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead
thereof;”

[ed: Eden exists and has its name from God, not man. Adam will be located at Eden’s garden (meaning is “pleasure”, “delight”) and the “8th day man” will eventually have a particular mate, and will be provided with a certain group of farming animals, not animals from the rest of creation (see verse [2:9]). Note how these animals are created after Adam is formed, but before his mate (Eve) is formed, for she is not formed by God out of the “dust” like Adam, but from Adam’s own DNA.

The word “rib” is referring to a curve of the body – which would likely be the man’s DNA double-helix that has a curved structure. Translators did not know of DNA, so they chose a curved part of a man’s body, this the idea of using the word “rib” for the translation from the Hebrew text.

Strong’s H6763 – ” tsêlâʻ” = “curve part of a body”
from H6760 – ” tsâlaʻ” = “to curve” ]

Genesis [2:22] “And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man,
made He a woman, and brought her unto the man.”

Genesis [2:24] “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother,
and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”

[ed: So the woman, not yet named) will be brought towards the man, from where ever God had created her from Adam’s “curve”.]

[ed: There is very important story in Genesis between Adam, his wife, and the serpent (aka the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil) which is covered more in depth at another study at this link:
http://www.ourgoodshepherd.org/eden-trees/
The study there will provide insight into what really happened between those 3 characters, and the significance is from their actions that impacted the past, affecting us even today and the future as well.]

[ed: The story of disobedience and sin from the Eden garden have occurred and now Adam, Eve and the Serpent have been cursed by God for their transgressions. The Genesis story continues on, with God sacrificing animals for their clothing to cover their bodies now.]

Genesis [3:21] “Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make
coats of skins, and clothed them.”

[ed: Adam and Eve tried to cover their sin with fig leaves, but that will not work. They cannot make that as a sacrifice themselves, only God can do that. God makes a sacrifice of the animal for their skins, this is a temporary cover only until the Christ sacrifice on the cross of Calvary.
Also note that in the long future from this point, that the prophets would wear animal skins, rather than linen or any other materials.]

Genesis [3:24] “So He drove out the man; and He placed at the east of the
garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every
way, to keep the way of the tree of life.”

[ed: In Eden’s Eastern garden, God placed cherubim (multiple cherubs – H3742) to guard the way back to the Tree of Life (Jesus Christ), who was still in the midst of the garden. The garden was enclosed, however it did have an opening/entrance/door/gate to allow entry to or exit from the garden. This opening was located in the East side of the garden. The guarding cherubim were not needed at any other location of the garden’s perimeter, to protect the garden from entry, just this single place.]

[ed: At this point in the Genesis story, we see that there are several commonly shared objects between the Eden garden and the Jerusalem temple.]

[ed: Both Garden and the Jerusalem temple were built as an enclosed area.

Both the Garden and the Jerusalem temple had a river going East from a source, to wit the temple spring was even named “Gihon” (see 2Chron [32:30], and the restored millennial temple is also described, spiritually speaking, to have a river flowing out from its base to water the earth (see Ezekiel [47:1–12]).

Both the Garden and the Jerusalem temple had 2 Cherubim guarding. In the garden, the Cherbims were placed by God to guard the entrance back to Eden. In the Jerusalem temple, an image of them, each about 15 feet tall, guarded the entrance to the Holy of Holies (see 1Kings [6:23]).

Both had a serpent for a time in the presence of God. In the garden, we know that the serpent tempted Adam and Eve into rebelling against God’s direct command (law). In the Jerusalem temple, we see that the bronze serpent made by Moses in the wilderness had been incorporated into Israelite worship (against God’s direct command (law), and upon gaining control of the temple after Solomon, the son of David, king Hezekiah broke it apart into pieces. (see 2Kings [18:4] ) .

Both the garden and the Jerusalem temple had certain trees, fruit, animals in their midst. The interior of Solomon’s Jerusalem temple was decorated with palm trees, pomegranates, lilies, almonds, (see Exodus [25:31–33]). The temple’s washbasins were covered with “lions, oxen, and cherubims” (1 Kings [7:29]). The great bronze laver stood on twelve oxen and was decorated “with flowers of lilies” (see 1 Kings [7:25–26]).

Both the Garden and Jerusalem temple had an East entrance. The temple’s doors (aka the ” Beautiful Gate”), would be opened up to allow people to gain access to the Outer Court (aka Court of Women). When a lamb was to be sacrificed, 3 trumpets sounded and the large heavy gate doors were opened so people would gain access to the court area.

  • At the Outer Court, people could approach to offer prayers and sacrifice to the temple’s altar for resolving their erring transgressions. The Outer Court was where women were to worship God, and could not go farther towards the inner court unless they had a sacrifice to offer. On the Western side of the Outer Court was another gate named the “Nicanor Gate” which leads into the Inner Court.
  • The Inner Court (aka Court of Israelis) was the area where priests would prepare the animals, grain, and wine based offerings for sacrifices. At the Western side of the Inner Court was entrance to towards the “Holy Place”.
  • The Holy Place contained the table of Shewbread, the Candlestick Lamp shaped into a symbolic representation of the 7 branched Tree of Life, and also the Incense altar – to wit is called as the “fire before the Lord” (see Lev [16:13]).
  • On the West side of the Holy Place, was an entrance to the “Holy of Holies“, where a High Priest would enter only once per year. This day was the “Day of Atonement” and animal blood was sprinkled on the Seat of Mercy (see Lev [16:15]). It is here that God would accept the High Priests’ interceding  sin offering  to obtain God’s mercies for the people.

Until Christ’s death, an intercessor was needed to bridge the gap between God and the people, a gap starting back with Adam and Eve and continuing on through the generations, resulting from the sins of the people. Once a person could claim Christ’s sacrifice, they no longer need a building or any priestly intercession, for Father is available directly through our own mind’s altar where we approach God in Christ’s name.

We can certainly realize that once Christ sacrificed his perfect, innocent life for all sins of the people in this Earth age, we now become the high priest of our own temple (our body) and sanctuary (our minds ) and approach God for redemption through Jesus’ name. Once you make that decision to allow God to be in your life, he will stay in your Holy of Holies and he will never leave.]

Biblical vs. Babylonian Creation Stories

[ed: There has been a good amount of speculations in the media that the Genesis creation scriptures were themselves based upon the ancient writings found in the Babylonian religion practices. There is really less similarity than what has been reported though and there is a very good analysis of the 2 creations stories.

For those who think that the Babylonian writings were used for the basis as the Biblical Genesis story, should review the following list of compared points of those 2 stories. It is very clear that they are not alike, and in fact show a distinct difference that affect the very core of each story.
Only 1 writing could be true, not both. Genesis (the Beginnings) could not be a derivative of any Babylonian Tablet.

Comparison found here. https://levendwater.org/companion/append8.html
